The Mentoring Partnership & Resource Center is launching a brand new series of six trainings based on The Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring, 4th edition!
In these interactive and experiential trainings participants will:
- Deepen their knowledge of The Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring,
- Apply research-informed and practitioner-approved best practices to their mentoring program, and
- Improve their mentoring program’s ability to create and sustain impactful mentoring relationships and strong program services!
This series consists of deep dive trainings on each of the six Mentoring Program Standards in The Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring, 4th edition:
Standard 1: Recruitment January 24, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. A deep dive on evidence-based practices for recruiting appropriate mentors and mentees
Standard 2: Screening February 22, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A thorough exploration of evidence-based practices for screening mentors, mentees, and mentees’ parents or guardians for safety and sustainability
Standard 3: Training March 21, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Evidence-based practices in training mentors and considerations for training mentees and mentees’ parents (or legal guardians or responsible adults)
Standard 4: Matching & Initiation April 26, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Best practices in pairing mentors and mentees and getting the relationship off to a solid start
Standard 5: Monitoring & Support May 23, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A deep dive to understand the evidence and best practices in keeping mentoring relationships safe and supported
Standard 6: Closure June 21, 2017 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Best practices in healthy mentoring relationship closures that reinforce the lessons learned through mentoring
All trainings will take place at Temple University Center City Philadelphia Campus.
